NORFLOX

Norflox is an antibiotic in a group of drugs called fluoroquinolones (flor-o-KWIN-o-lones). This medicine fights bacteria in the body.

MEDICINE USES :

Norfloxacin is used for treating bacterial infections. This antibiotic treats only bacterial infections. It will not work for viral infections (such as common cold, flu).

CIPLA NORFLOXACIN SIDE EFFECTS :

Diarrhea; dizziness; headache; loss of appetite;
nausea; stomach upset or cramps; vomiting.

·        
Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching;
difficulty breathing;

·        
Tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth,
face, lips, or tongue);

·        
Bloody or tarry stools; chest pain; dark urine
or change in the amount of urine; decreased amount of urine;

·        
fainting; fever, chills, or unusual cough;
hallucinations; hearing changes (eg, ringing in the ears, hearing loss);
inability to move or bear weight on a joint or tendon area; irregular
heartbeat; joint pain or swelling; moderate to severe sunburn;

·        
Mood or mental changes (eg, new or worsening
anxiety, agitation, confusion, depression, restlessness, sleeplessness);

·        
Muscle pain or weakness; pain, soreness,
redness, swelling, weakness, or bruising of a tendon or joint area;

·        
Pale stools; persistent sore throat.

NORFLOX NORFLOXACIN TABLETS  PRECAUTIONS :

    Norflox may cause drowsiness, dizziness, or light-headedness. These effects may be worse if you take it with alcohol or certain medicines.
    Long-term or repeated use of Norflox may cause a second infection. Tell your doctor if signs of a second infection occur. Your medicine may need to be changed to treat this.
    Avoid large amounts of food or drink that have caffeine (eg, chocolate, cocoa, coffee, cola, tea).
    If you experience pain or swelling of a tendon or weakness or loss of use of a joint area, notify your doctor right away. Rest the area and avoid exercise until your doctor gives you instructions.
    Lab tests, including complete blood cell counts and liver and kidney function, may be performed while you use Norflox. These tests may be used to monitor your condition or check for side effects. Be sure to keep all doctor and lab appointments.
    PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING: If you become pregnant, contact your doctor. You will need to discuss the benefits and risks of taking Norflox while you are pregnant. It is not known if this medicine is found in breast milk. Do not breast-feed while taking this medicine.

STORAGE REQUIREMENTS :

Store at 25°C (77°F); excursions permitted to 15°C to 30°C (59°F to 86°F). Keep container tightly closed.

DRUG INTERACTIONS :

    Antiarrhythmics (eg, amiodarone, disopyramide, dofetilide, quinidine , sotalol), cisapride, diuretics (eg, furosemide, hydrochlorothiazide), macrolide or ketolide antibiotics (eg,  erythromycin, telithromycin), medicines for mental or mood disorders, medicines that may affect your heartbeat, phenothiazines (eg, chlorpromazine), or tricyclic antidepressants (eg, amitriptyline) because the risk of serious side effects, including irregular heartbeat and other heart problems, may be increased. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure if any of your medicines may affect your heartbeat
    Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) (eg, ibuprofen) because the risk of side effects, such as seizures, may be increased
    Corticosteroids (eg, prednisone) because the risk of tendon damage may be increased
    Probenecid because it may increase the risk of Norfloxacin’s side effects
    Nitrofurantoin because it may decrease Norfloxacin’s effectiveness

WHAT IS NUBLAST CAPSULES?

Temozolomide interferes with the
development of cancer cells, slowing their growth and spread in the body.
Temozolomide is an anti-cancer (“antineoplastic” or
“cytotoxic”) chemotherapy drug.  This medication is classified
as an “alkylating agent.

USES OF NUBLAST CAPSULES:

Temozolomide is used for the treatment
of anaplastic astrocytoma, glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) (types of brain tumors).
Temozolomide is classified as an alkylating agent.  Alkylating agents are
most active in the resting phase of the cell.  These drugs are cell-cycle
non-specific. Temozolomide is similar to the drug dacarbazine.  It acts as
a “pro-drug” meaning it needs to be transformed to its active (cancer
fighting) form by the body’s metabolism.

POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS:

seizure (convulsions); fever, chills,
dry cough, feeling short of breath;
easy bruising, unusual bleeding (nose, mouth, vagina, or
rectum), purple or red pinpoint spots under your skin;
low white blood cell counts–fever, swollen gums, painful
mouth sores, pain when swallowing, skin sores, cold or flu symptoms, cough,
trouble breathing; or
liver problems–nausea, upper stomach pain, itching, tired
feeling, loss of appetite, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice (yellowing
of the skin or eyes).

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS MAY
INCLUDE:

bruising, skin rash; loss of movement on
one side of the body; nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite;
diarrhea, constipation; headache, tired feeling, memory
problems; dizziness, weakness, loss of coordination;
sleep problems (insomnia); low white blood cell counts
(fever, flu symptoms); or hair loss.

Nublast are Rash, Headache, Dizziness,
Convulsion, Coordination disorder, Insomnia (difficulty in sleeping), Vomiting,
Weakness, Nausea, Loss of appetite, Hair loss, Fatigue, Fever, Diarrhoea,
Memory loss, Constipation, Hemiparesis (weakness on one side of the body.

DRUGS INTERACTIONS: 

Take this medicine in the dose and
duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush
or break it. Nublast 100 mg Capsule is to be taken empty stomach.

Nublast 100 mg Capsule is an anti-cancer
medication. It enters the brain tissues and works by damaging the genetic
material (DNA and RNA) of the cancer cells. This stops their growth and
multiplication.

DRUGS PRECAUTIONS:

Swallow
full tablets on an empty stomach, one hour before your meal.

Avoid
being near people who are sick or have infections. Consult your doctor if you
develop symptoms of opportunistic infections (such as Pneumocystis jirovecii
pneumonia) and reactivation of infections (such as hepatitis B virus) Using
temozolomide may increase your risk of developing certain types of bone marrow
cancer. Be aware about your specific risk.

You may
be given medication to prevent nausea or other side effects while you are
receiving temozolomide.

Your
blood will be tested frequently during treatment to monitor the side effects of
temozolomide on your blood cells as you may have a small risk of other changes
in blood cells, including leukemia.

Avoid
activities that may increase your risk of bleeding or injury. Use extra care to
prevent bleeding while shaving or brushing your teeth.

Do not
drink alcohol while taking temozolomide.

Do not
drive or operate machinery while using temozolomide as it may make you tired or
sleepy.

Both
male and female patients should take effective contraceptive precautions during
and after 6 months of treatment. Male patients should seek advice on conservation
of sperm prior to treatment as temozolomide treatment may cause infertility.
